HOW WE WORK

WPC IS HIGHLY EFFICIENT
WPC is an efficient organization that provides good stewardship of donor funds. More than 90% of expenses go directly to conservation programs. We use specially designated funds to cover the costs of starting or developing fundraising programs, renewing office equipment or special capital purchases - which means your donation will always go to wildlife programs!

WPC IS HIGHLY EFFECTIVE
We've built a reputation for achieving results. Species such as the Mauritius Kestrel, Pink Pigeon and Echo Parakeet would be extinct today if it were not for WPC and its affiliates.

WPC's small initial investments in the swift fox and burrowing owl projects have helped these initiatives grow into major recovery programs.

WPC is also the first non-profit to lead the implementation of a Canadian species recovery action plan under the federal Species at Risk Act, working to return the population of Eastern Loggerhead Shrike in Ontario to healthy levels.

Your support goes a long way.

WPC IS HIGHLY FOCUSED
WPC focusses on areas where we can make a difference. WeÕve contributed to significant scientific advances on 18 endangered species including the Piping Plover, Long-Billed Curlew, Swift Fox, Vancouver Island Marmot and Burrowing Owl in Canada, as well as three species of Lemurs in Madagascar, the Livingstone's Fruit Bat in the Comores, and the Jamaican Boa and St. Lucia Whiptail in the Caribbean.

WPC HAS STRATEGIC PARTNERS
Because species conservation crosses a lot of disciplines, as well as international borders, WPC collaborates with many organizations in Canada and around the world so we can be as effective as possible where it counts - in the field.

WPC recognizes the generous support of the Ontario Trillium Foundation
